My advice is to apply as early as possible. I know that is trumpeted here quite a bit, but I think it's even more prudent now considering how long AACOMAS took to verify this year. The four weeks between my verification of AMCAS and AACOMAS (submitted on or about the same day) really put me behind on submitting a few DO secondaries that I valued more than some of the MD secondaries I submitted. I hated waiting and sitting on my hands, so I submitted some allopathic secondaries to schools I didn't really care to attend because I wanted to be doing something.
Lesson of the day, submit early. AACOMAS opens in May or so. Submit it in early June and start tearing into your secondaries ASAP. You'll thank me later!
