I am curious, what is the hardest undergrad class that you have taken?

So far it has been Cal 2 for me, but I am taking Orgo now so we will see how that changes. I will update this thread after I have taken Orgo.

I struggle with physics...... especially first semester. So I'm gonna go with that course for me.

there was a similar thread, with a poll, about a week ago

I'm taking this class called Organic spectroscopy. It's a grad level class, and it seems kind of hard. But I thought it'd be a nice thing to take, since it covers theory and use of NMR, which is also pretty important in the medical field.

Either Arabic 1 or Arabic 5

Zoology because it was BORING. I hated every second of that class.

Scientific and Technical Writing. There was a huge volume of work accompanied by the most anal grading I have ever seen in my life. I got a 95+ on the mid-term and the final and still managed to only pull off a C in the class. The valedictorian my year got a D in the class.

Human osteology. It's easy to look at whole bones or even large bone fragments and pick out their features and articulations...but now try smashing the bones into unrecognizable bits, having no more than 20 seconds to examine the bone bit, and then being asked to find and name (and correctly spell) the same features when you don't even know what you're looking at anymore.

There is an art to scientific writing. Did you have to write grants, research articles, review articles, product review articles, etc?

That was for the hardest pre-req, but there are still gajillions of threads like this.

A certain "Hardest _____ you have ever taken" thread was popular about a week ago as well.

Gen chem, when I was 16 was the most difficult. After I sailed through all the easy psyc, phil, eng first semester I got to gen chem; It killed me. Oxford PhD did not give anyone slack(i was lazy too x]).

Senior level biophysics (through the physics department). Absolutely grueling, but I loved it.

Engineering proposals. I can give an example of one group that wrote a 45 page proposal and put the page numbers in the top right instead of the bottom right (which violates the Chicago manual of style) and they immediately got busted down to a 55% for the paper before the professor even started to read it.

GENERAL CHEMISTRYYYYYYYY the bane of my existence

and culprit behind death of GPA

pchem (atomic structure and dynamics- i.e., quantum pchem)

sure it's mind-blowing in a cool way, but dear god is it hard. definitely my hardest course ever. and i'm only 4 days in 😀

Isn't that still honours range for eng though? I'm just kidding. That's brutal.

Physical Optics is looking like it's going to kick my ass.

Math Analysis for Engineers also kind sucked.
