So what's the hardest thing you've had to memorize in undergrad?

For me, being a microbiology & immunology major, the hardest thing I've had to memorize by far is the number of gene segments, Baltimore classification, shape, and nucleic acid nature of all known virus families and whether or not they were enveloped or had a viral polymerase ready to go, along with a specific example of each family and their means of transmission and life cycle.

This was for a 3rd-year level virology class.

Sounds like a waste of time...

How to tie my shoes.

Loop, pull, swoop. Wait, no that's not right. Swoop, loop, then pull? Aww screw it, I'm hopeless!!

You know I had a hard time with this on kindergarten. My teacher taught us "the cat chases the mouse" and I always complained because the laces looked exactly the same. Cat and mouse my butt.

That's just like me though. Reading at 4, not tying shoes until 9. 😉

That's what velcro is for.

Hardest thing to memorize, the name, major, and where/which class you met of every person you meet.

"Hey, I know you. We had Ochem together. Wait, you never taken OCHem, Erm, what about biology? You're not a science major. Hmm...what about "Random Gen. Ed" No?. Damn, I sure I know you from somewhere. Oh, I know now. you're that friend of a friend of a friend, who came to visit us for one day like two years ago right?. Yes that's it. Hi, my name is 0kazak1."

Lol. Reminds me of a cool social experiment--go up to someone you've never seen before and pretend to know them. Strike up a conversation. Most people will be too embarrassed to point out that they've never seen you before in their lives. 😀

Here's 5 weeks of my 2nd year in medical school.

Wow, am i really this driven and crazy to do this?.......

yes, I AM

There were a lot of things in anatomy and physiology that were time consuming to memorize. I managed to pull off A's both quarters, but still...it was SO TIME CONSUMING.

Now do both of those in 6 weeks, with a lot more detail, and you'll get a taste of what medical school is like 🙂

Beer prices and how to estimate how much you will need for a party...

memorization is for the weak minded, I derive all physical knowledge from quantum mechanical principles on the spot

Hahaha, I salute you all. I know I'll get my turn eventually. 🙂

hahahahaha, pure hilarity!

Thats one of the funniest things I've heard (I guess read) in awhile

Which bathroom to go into in public places.

My college ID. Memorizing 9 digits is more than what my brain is capable at. 🙁
