So after doing some research on FREIDA, and e-mailing a bunch of GSurg program directors on whether or not they take IMGs on H1B visa, I have received a few responses.
The 2 that have caught my attention are Harlem Hospital and Bronx-Lebanon.
I'm thinking of doing my electives there, in hopes of matching into one of those hospitals.
Obviously, I'm sure its not the best NYC has to offer, but finding surgical residencies that sponsors H1B visas appears to be quite taxing...

So far only there are only about 5-6 hospitals that I can say sponsor H1b visa. Am I wasting my time by gunning for a categorical spot with only 5-6 options?
