Hey all,

I'm an NP first year and am reliving last year's anticipation just looking at this thread! Can't believe it was a whole year ago.

I don't have any particularly insider information for you right now, but I noticed that some people were talking about revisit. Last year it was the first weekend of May. I'll see if I can find out if a date has been set for this year, and report back!

For your entertainment and any information you can glean from it, here's last year's threadhttp://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=264936

Try not to stress the wait too much (although I sure did!) and I'll check in with you guys if I come upon any useful info.

Good luck!!! :luck:

Lol, I just finished reading the whole thread. It was kind of anti-climactic at the end when everybody was able to find out by logging in to the finaid website, but I think it's going to be a lot crazier this year.

I just logged onto SDN the first time last night to see when some of my school's decisions might be coming out. I ended up on this website until circa 3:30 AM. Anyone have an idea when Harvard is sending out letters--is March 9 the consensus?

Lol, SDN has a way of sucking you in, doesn't it? As for decisions, the new estimate is March 19.

we just discussed this on the page before...when I called the lady said they will be mailed the 3rd week of March...so very unlikely that they'd get sent tomorrow

Has Harvard already sent out pre-interview rejections?

I don't know when pre-interview rejections are sent out

Interviews are over, I interviewed on the 22nd and they said that the 23rd was the last day of interviews (I had to reschedule due to bad weather)

thank god for ben and jerry's, keeping me semi-sane through all of this.

For me it's the thinmints and caramel delites. God bless dem girl scouts for coming at exactly the right time.

Hah, that's so funny. I was having lunch with my interviewer in my dream (or nightmare) and I kept asking him if I got in. Every time he said "you'll be alright " and gave me an evil grin. :scared:

Haha, we need to start a thread called "Harvard Nightmares" or something.

I dreamed that I got tons of rejections in my email (!) inbox, presented in the format of facebook message lists (yes, fb & sdn compete for my time these days =) Among them, an email from the NP office simply saying, "You have been rejected by New Pathways," or something to that effect. I then eagerly clicked on the HST email, which says, "Congratulations [I was ecstatic] ... for taking our biological math class. Too bad you dropped out ..." yeah, something very ridiculous!

I can't believe Harvard is post-poned too. This means that 5/6 of the schools that I'm waiting to hear from will send decisions exactly during my spring break. When I will be cut off from the worl except $1/minute internet. Wonderful.

I have a feeling I'm going to be wasting a lot of money on internet. Must...stay... away from.....sdn...!

fin aid website work for anyone?!

its too early to find out. according to the thread from last year, the fin aid site started working once the decisions were mailed out.

ten days left!👍

Would you guy be happier if they actually did send out letters today (and didn't tell us)?
It means less waiting, but it also means no preparation for the surprise at your doorstep.

Personally, I just want to know already.

Hells yes, I wanna know already too. Down with waiting 😀

so, i called the admissions office this morning to see if i could change my mailing address (my apt is under construction, i haven't gotten mail in like a week, and i don't want to risk anything at this point)...

when i asked if i could change my mailing address, the guy was like, "oh, no i'm sorry, the mailings are already going out..."

does that mean:
1) he blatantly lied b/c changing my address is just a pain in the ass and he didn't want to do it?
2) the letters are all addressed and stamped but their holding on to them until the 19th?
OR
3) the mailings are actually going out sooner than we thought??!?!?!

Who knows? Maybe someone should double-check, since even some people in the admissions office may not be well-informed.

It could be that rejection letters are already going out...based on last year's thread, those were the first to arrive.

i doubt that they would not change your address b/c it is too much work for them. the letters are probably printed and 4000 rejections (completed applications/no interview) need to be mailed out before they send the acceptances. They might be saying March 19 because that is the latest day they expect to mail all the letters.

Yes, I hope they were just playing a cruel joke on us when they changed from 9th to 19th 🙄
An early surprise is good for me at this point, even if it's a rejection.

Oh yeah, I finished reading the entire '06 thread last night ... let's hope I don't get too distracted that I fail to graduate from school ...

Yeah, my mom's first reaction when I whined about the date change was "Well, maybe they're just telling people a later date to make them stop calling and harassing them."

i really hope that's the case.

Hmm... I had just finished convincing myself that nothing would be coming in the mail next week -- back to mailman stalking

Has Harvard already sent out pre-interview rejections?
I don't think harvard sent out the pre-interview rejections yet...This might be what is going out in the mail today...I applied for both NP and HST...yet only interviewed for HST...I still did not get a NP rejection as of yet....

Yeah I'm in the same, only opposite, boat: applied to both, only interviewed for NP, awaiting HST rejection.

what will you guys do if you get accepted?

what did pancho villa do to get placed on probation? lol

good luck with harvard people!

I know someone who was interviewed by MSTP & HST, but rejected by NP a few days before those interviews (via email, I'm guessing). She's such an amazing applicant, but this was around the end of January, so I guess NP decided not to interview any more people?

I got both the NP & HST interviews ... I basically "asked" for the NP one though. Here's what happened:
9am: pre-interview rejection email from MSTP
12:30pm: interview invite email from HST
1pm (after getting over the shock of an interview, and on suggestion of the HST office): called the NP office - informed them of my HST interview and asked for the "status of my application." The lady responded by scheduling my NP interview the day before HST, hehe.

I was really late in the cycle, since I couldn't bring myself to submit the (beloved =) HST essay till 2 days before the deadline.

Now I really wished I called them too....Oh well...

what will you guys do if you get accepted?

Probably cry and scream....which funny enough, is also what I'll be doing if I don't get accepted. 🙂

Take a deep breath. I think all of us have been holding our breath waiting to hear final decisions from Harvard since interviewing.

Just curious: will you give up UCSF and in-state tuition to pick up that $100,000 unit loan at Harvard?

I don't know what you mean?

UCSF in state tuition is already $100,000 over four years, not including room and board, while Harvard's $100,000 unit loan does.

Harvard, in the case of qualifying for the unit loan, is cheaper than UCSF (since UCSF has little to no financial aid).

Oh I see, my bad.
Darn, what wouldn't I give to be able to say, "To Harvard or UCSF--that is the question."
I hope to see you guys poring over that quandary in a week's time.

in a week's time I'll be thinking "jet black, or mohogany" because I'll be deciding on what type of frame to buy for my harvard rejection 🙁

And I'll be thinking "vodka or rum" to help me get over the thin envelop I received.

tequila drowns your sorrows like no other... the only bad part is that it tastes just as bad coming up as it did going down...

i hate to post this b/c this is word from a friend of a friend... but harvard rejections have started arriving. boston, pre-interview. so it has begun...

Hahaha. Harvard applicants are incredibly witty. I have no idea what I'd do if I'm lucky enough to gain the acceptance at HMS. I figure that's the definition of "icing on the cake." For now, I continue to hold my breath and wait for acceptances to arrive on the East Coast before I really start to lose it.

It will sort of suck to no longer be a Harvard applicant. Ah well, time to be a Harvard reject.

I just want to know. Nobody has heard post-interview yet. I think we still have plenty of waiting.

AGHH! I have no idea how I'm going to focus on work this week!

Well looking at the thread from last year, it seems like most of the letters (rejections, accepatances, and waitlists) were received within a week of each other...dunno if things will be different this year though.

That means most, if not all, of the stuff might be sent out by the end of next week! Awesome!

BEST OF LUCK TO EVERYBODY AND TO MYSELF

I truly hope this is the case. I am oh so tired of waiting for this decision. Just please, let me know!
