From the, "What did you recieve today?" thread:

what i expected all along - a harvard rejection.
in the past 2 weeks also got rejections from tufts and ucla (post secondary)

this sucks.

i'm guessing that's for those without interviews, right?

i'd imagine those could have been packaged and shipped a little earlier since the stopped interviewing in february.

either way, the end is near!

You are correct pancho. I didn't want to post in this thread and be the bearer of bad news... good luck to all of you

Yeah, I assumed they were pre-interview rejections. Hopefully, there's no big delay in sending out the rest of the decisions.

i hate to post this b/c this is word from a friend of a friend... but harvard rejections have started arriving. boston, pre-interview. so it has begun...

Your "so it has begun" reminds me of Théoden's line as the battle at Helm's Deep starts in The Two Towers: "So it begins."

Sorry, couldn't help but rub in a LOTR reference there -- my pathetic attempt at relieving stress 😳

I thought of the exact same thing 😀

Haha, your so it begins reminded me of "And so it is" in Closer (the song is called the Blower's Daughter BTW).

Holy Crap....seems to suggest the rest of the letters are coming sooner rather than later. Good luck everyone!!!!!!!! :luck: :luck: :luck:

Here's to hoping I don't get a speeding ticket from rushing home from work this week. 🙂

well, time to go to Sam's club, buy 27 pounds of M&Ms, and induce a sugar coma to knock me out until the end of the week.

I'm hoping all decisions were sent out at once (naive, I know). Fingers crossed for next week.

Well, I'm in Boston, and there hasn't been anything in the mail so far.

Oh, and happy Daylight Saving everyone....cheers for the 23-hour Sunday! (Which means the mail on Monday comes all the sooner!)

Has anyone checked the financial aid website since this Friday? I can't check b/c I own a MAC and according to the site's technical requirements I can not log on. (see below)

Technical Requirements: PC with Windows 200o OS (or higher) & Internet Explorer 6.0/Netscape 7.2 (or higher) REQUIRED. MAC computers and other browsers like Mozilla Firefox and Safari ARE NOT SUPPORTED.

Well fellow SDNers, I am officially hopeless. I have not been accepted by a single top ten school and my intuition and all previous mdapplicant profiles tell me that I'm probably going to get a rejection. I'm really hoping for a waitlist though. Good luck to the rest of you folks. Time to start spring break 😉

I still can't log in. Ditto🙁

Sorry to hear that Hednej. Here's hoping to that you get a pleasant surprise when you come back from break:luck:

just checked, and i can't log in either.

and i found that the movie "300" is an EXCELLENT way to fill time while you wait. i've seen it twice already, and i am seriously considering going to see it again. it's THAT good...

I don't think those technical settings are required to log in...I bet they just won't help you out if you can't get it to work on these browsers..my guess is the site will work with them however.

junqu, were you able to log in? just curious. in case you have, than i can stop being anxious and come to terms w/ the rejection.

Any ideas as to when the first post-interview decisions will arrive? I'm thinking around Wednesday...

Well, I'm in Boston, and there hasn't been anything in the mail so far.

No daylight savings in Arizona (can't catch a break!)...

anybody up for starting a pool for the day they'll begin to arrive?

i was just going to suggest that. let's keep things interesting...

hmmm. never thought of it that way. that sounds like a good plan.

put me down for $5 on wednesday, $20 if i get the golden ticket.

Last year acceptances didn't begin to arrive until 5-7 days after post-interview rejections. Unless they become really efficient this year (which I would love!!), I don't think we should count on seeing acceptances this week.

I pledge $50 to sdn if an acceptance comes this week. : D.

I'll give $50 to doctors without borders if I get in this week. Not sure why I should donate to SDN.

Interesting how HMS seems to become ever more competitive. According to other posters, both # of applicants and # of ppl interviewed has increased quite a lot this cycle. So it seems there's going to be an all-time-high # of one-page letters going out.

Everybody seems to have come to terms with the fact that HMS is an extreme-long shot seeing as they're a great school and interview a lot of people. It's all good, fingers crossed until the end.

As far as guessing what day letters go out -- I emailed HMS on the 8th and they told me "a week to ten days"; a week would be this coming Thursday...Of course then it'll take another week to get to my mailbox knowing my college...

I don't understand why everyones talking about the letters coming this week...I thought the consensus was that all letters would come the third week of March. 😕

That's what most people said before, right? Plus, I called and the person said all letters (rejections too) were coming out third week. I mean, NO objections to it all happening sooner, but its getting to be finals week for me, so checking the mailbox uneccessarily every 5 min may be a little harmful.

People been receiving pre-interview rejections, so we're hoping the post will come soon despite what the ad office said😛

haha yeah. i've been trying to convince myself that the admissions office has been telling students the "third week of march" to get them to stop calling the office.

regardless, the fact that i'll know my ivy-league fate within the next 15 days or so is terrifying.

Exactly...since usually the post-interview decisions start arriving a few days after the pre-interview rejections, and those went out last week, we're keeping our fingers crossed for this week. That, and someone called last week to change their address and was told that it was too late....

this waiting is rather psychologically painful... i wish it weren't so drawn out!

Just got off the phone, decisions will be put in the mail on Friday.

Does this refer to all decisions at once, or just when they'll start. They might not have been this specific but I'm just wondering in general... maybe I'll give them another ring

All, but I'm waiting for MSTP. And they phone. So if I get something in the mail, 🙁

You know, if they need any help stuffing envelopes to get them out faster, I'd be more than happy to volunteer. 😀 I'm also willing to save them the postage on my own letter....

 I wonder how they would respond to receiving a self-addressed stamped envelope?

Okay, enough obsessing for me. I have to go pack for my last interview. So glad to be done! Plus my dad lives in SD so it will be nice to see him. Good luck all!

Haha you guys are hilarious - thanks for keeping me sane with your posts, the psychological torture would be really unbearable otherwise! Hmm, so would it be reasonable to expect the financial aid website up & running on Friday? (it wouldn't be a "loophole" per se; it would be a necessity to open it up as soon as the decisions are sent right? =)

Stamped envelopes remind me of the pain of getting all those LOR's sent on time, ... wow we've come a long way haven't we. This time last year, I was feeling extremely guilty for nagging so many people to write those letters ... I still feel guilty about it. What would you do if you get in? Buy each recommender a bottle of champagn? =P I tried to give my profs something (very small ~$10) for christmas, and one plainly told me to wait till the application process is over - it would be like bribery otherwise 😳

GoinBack2Cali, congrats on getting the MSTP interview in the first place! Let us know as soon as you get the call 🙂

An 11 x 8 one, with extra postage, at that. 🙂

And a large stamp on the outside that says "Congratulations!!!"

by the way, best of luck to everybody that has posted on this thread. Let's hope at least some of us get lucky.

received rejection letter (pre interview, so i kinda was expecting it since interviews ended a while ago_)nevertheless, 🙁 🙁

🙁 Thanks for posting here though.

Which other schools are you waiting to hear back from? :luck:

Not sure if it was for undergrad or the medical school...but I heard someone once sent the Harvard admissions office a single (previously worn) shoe with the note, "I've already got one foot in the door!"

Thankful that I haven't yet sunk that low...emphasis on "yet."

Wow, I didn't know your profs were THAT uptight. I understand not accepting gifts BEFORE writing the letter, but after it's already been sent out? Jeesh.

Every time someone bumps this thread now I have a heart attack. Did someone hear? You're killing me!
