We are repeating last year's thread and oh so self-aware of it 😀

Who here read the entire thread from last year? *me raising hand*

Me too! Well I read it last year while it was going on, I never figured I would be a participant this year. I'm at school in MD and mail is going to my house in NJ. My parents are going to have to open the letter and call me :scared:

hahahaha I was thinking the same thing though I didn't say it out loud. But yeah history does repeat itself. 90+% of SDN threads prove that especially in preallo.😉

HAHA are you serious??? I am thoroughly amused. Seriously, there are more important ethical questions in life to debate about... 🙄

Yeah I agree with you completely. It was rather lameooooooooo!!! Even the HMS now current MS 2's thought it was lameoo!!

I'm almost afraid to admit I have this thread bookmarked on my computer. One-click access!

I put my zip code into the usps calculator and it said 3 days from longwood zipcode. It said one day for the boston area, so assuming these (rejections) were mailed on friday it looks like tomorrow will be the day for me.

It might come today, since mail often moves on Sundays even though there is no delivery.

post-interview rejection in NY. extremely thin envelope. was almost anti-climactic, bc after seeing it- i didnt even care to open it. 😳

:luck: :luck:

ps - i had the 'bad' financial aid msg

I said i'd boycott, but I'm back again. sigh. Anyways, good luck to everyone! Here's another set of waste-time questions:

tell us two truths and one lie. This isn't like those group meetings where you have to say something off the top of your head so it's random and crappy...make it fabulous! 🙂

At one point, everyone had login failed... So, maybe that random wednesday, they hadn't updated the system completely (maybe it wasn't one moment no one was "in" and the next moment every accepted applicant was "in." In other words, maybe I'm just in denial, but is it possible they added more people onto the system after they shut down the site?

Oh well, to everyone who gets rejected in the coming days, just know that you can succeed anywhere you go, and don't have an inferiority complex. Even at my state school, there were 1300 applications for 150 spots (and only 5 spots for MSTP), so no matter what, getting into any medical school is something of which to be proud!

So, I am reading this book called Social Intelligence by Daniel Goleman. Anyone given this a read before?😉

The natalie portman one! (I guess)

1. I once drove a former CIA Director around town.
2. I go to Starbucks seven times a day on average.
3. I jumped off of a two hundred foot cliff into a lake.

LMAO

Moj got it right, I've never met Natalie Portman, but should the opportunity ever arise, I'm totally making a move, lol

Moj, my guess is that hte Starbucks one is a lie (at least I hope it is for your sake, lol)

There's a little Penn v. Harvard discussion in the Penn thread......most over there think Penn is better. I feel that posters in that thread are a bit of a self-selecting group. What do people here think? I understand that you guys are also self-selecting 🙂 .

#2.

1. I had celebratory champagne with Tiger Woods after the 2000 US Open.
2. I was part of a drug bust that seized 1800 lbs of pot.
3. It took me 40 hours to drive cross country from CA to DC.

Rejections have made it to South Carolina. I got the bad message as well. Good luck to everyone else! Just for fun also, I'll play the game:

1) I never get the recommended 8 hours of sleep.
2) I met a member of Al Qaeda.
3) I helped deliver a baby on the sidewalk in the middle of a city.

The picture of 1 is framed back home, here is 2 (me on left, brother on right)

.

It actually took 45 hours to drive from CA to DC. Riding with a federal agent you get a little bolder on the highway.

Thin letter rejection today in Texas, didn't check fin aid page so I can't contribute to that theory (sorry, but it seems to be holding).

I still vote Penn. I'm just in this thread for the entertainment. 😀

See, the Penn thread is not nearly as entertaining. Score one for why HMS is better....the applicants are more fun 😉

Actually, this is exactly one of the reasons why I liked HMS so much when I interviewed there.

You just became much more interesting.

Rejection in maryland. Bad financial aid message. New Pathway rejection. No word on HST decision.

Okay here is mine:

1. I ran a marathon without any training.

2. I have a tattoo of the caduceus.

3. I trained my dog to open doors.

A rejection down south? I am in Oklahoma, but I did NOT get a letter today. I am assuming that this is just natural variation in local sorting mechanisms, and that I will get it tomorrow? I like this thread and wow, some people in here are like cops or something?! 😱

Holy moley! Could this mean rejection letters will make it to So Cal by today as well?! I'll let you all know when I get home from work today and check my mail 😕 .

Ha, couldn't wait and called home. Rejection in So Cal (thin envelope). Had the login failed message as well. Good luck to everone still waiting to hear back. Everyone on this thread is awesome and I wish U all the best! 😀

I have an 11 month old, so I haven't slept in...well..11 months.😉

:scared: You just made me think twice about one of my ultimate goals in life. Your baby is gonna be very proud of his/her mommy, that's for sure👍

Damn. You got me there.

Does anyone else think it's weird that Harvard med and British navy boats have the same acronym?

i thought someone said that all decisions (both NP and HST) were mailed in one letter?

oh is that so? I just thought HST decisions would be mailed out separately. damnit!

I am in Oklahoma and the mail came and I did not get anything. I also got the login failed message, so I am still flinching.😉

can anyone verify this? i saw on the thread last yr that it was all one letter.....

Yes, my HST student host told me this too.

I'm almost afraid to admit I have this thread bookmarked on my computer. One-click access!
-- me tooooooooooo! 😀 It's kind of a hassle though, at the rate this thread is growing at: gotta re-bookmark as we change to each new page.

I'm in Florida, no rejection letter today. Got "bad" fin aid message Wednesday. Have a small sliver of hope left...

by the way, I apologize for the laughter emoticon in my previous post, in the face of such a gloomy day for so many people. It's only a matter of time before I get my thin envelope - westcoast of Canada here ...

Indeed, everyone I've met at the HMS interview and on this thread are so much fun. It's a pity we won't be classmates, but carry on the spirit and spread your wit and passion wherever you end up! 🙂

Maybe, just maybe, we'll bump into each other in the wards 5 years down the road, accidentally admit our guilty pleasure of reading this thread like a drug, and start identifying each other with the nicknames, avatars, comments, and mdapp profiles that we will still remember so poignantly that we'll sound like creepy stalkers :luck:

No post-interview rejection letter in Tucson, AZ today... I hope this means I have a chance at the waitlist since I got the "bad" financial aid message 😕. Come to think of it, did any underrepresented minorities--like myself--get a "good" financial aid message?

Si Senor!

1) better be a lie or...you poor thing🙁

haha have no fear, you have found the lie. I normally get 9 or so. I can go without sleep if i have to, but if I'm going to sleep, then I'm going to sleep for a long time.
