Harvard HST, CCLCM-like programs?

I am a research heavy applicant with a decent amount of clinical exposure. I am not eligible to apply to HST since I come from a Bio/non-quantitative background, but I absolutely loved CCLCM's focus on research. I know top 20s focus a lot on research, but I was wondering if there are schools that have this same type of focus, whether they are top 10 or top 50?

Also, I am applying MD-only, although I might consider MD/PhD depending how my career interests evolve while in school.

Pitt's PSTP (physician-scientist training program) and CSTP (clinician-scientist training program) are similar to CCLCM in that they're 5 year programs with 1 research year built in.

Why are you not qualified to apply to HST? If you are thinking about the course requirements, don't worry too much, the requirements are not super strict. I inquired about their requirements last year when I was applying, with the thought that I would take more classes if I was accepted, but was told to not worry about it and that with a bit of catching up I would do just fine if I was "comfortable" with the topics. Not having linear algebra etc didn't stop me from getting an interview...though maybe my lack of coursework contributed to not getting in 😛

Ah, too bad! I already submitted for NP! But don't get me wrong, NP is awesome too! Yea, I did not apply HST because of my math background. I only did 2 semesters of calculus and one semester of stats. I took calc as a freshman and I barely remember how to integrate, so I believe it is for the best too. I am pretty good at stats though, and have used it over and over again even working in labs. I am applying to CCLCM now, and I like its emphasis on clinical and translational research. I prefer that approach to research better, and truth be told, I am not the best at math 😉

Yes, you can very good research training at Stanford.
