Harvard

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I doubt anyone has attended both Harvard and a mid tier for med school so I doubt an accurate answer is possible.

I have heard that Harvard students take the super hard version of step 1 because the normal exam is far too simple. I plan to verify this at Prometric when I take my exam on Friday - I'll be sure to report back with my findings.

+1. When patients realize it's a Harvard student the diagnosis becomes 15X more complicated.

I heard they cover everything other medical schools cover in the first two weeks, then move on to the Harvard medicine.

Robbin's Pathologic Basis of Disease, Harvard Edition

It's a little known fact that Step 1 questions are written by HMS students after their M1 orientation, which consists of memorizing Robbins in 1 week.

Instead of using monkeys for animal models, Harvard students use MDs from other universities.

I always forget, but didn't Chuck Norris go to Harvard?

On a serious note, this may be the dumbest question I've ever read on SDN.

I saw First Aid for the USMLE Step 1 2013 Harvard Edition being sold at a local bookstore on Martha's Vineyard the other day. It was a single laminated sheet with the personal contact information of ROAD residency program directors from hospitals listed in U.S. News and World Report.

I was really, like REALLY disappointed when I saw the OP, but then I saw the responses.

SDN regulars, well done. Glad to see not everyone is as neurotic as some of the pre-meds.

Chuck Norris went to Harvard, Yale, MIT, Oxford, and Princeton at the same time.

Respect.

Princeton med? Because if not, you're wasting your time.

We try.

I guess this is what they do all day

After being diagnosed with Pancreatic CA, Chuck Norris took the MCAT, all the STEPs, and every ABSITE in one day all before lunch. Perfect scores. He then performed a whipple on himself while simultaneously teaching Atul Gawande about the importance of surgical checklists.

Chuck threw his tumor into a garbage can in New Orleans. The tumor continued to grow outside the body and eventually became the rapper lil wayne.

You're welcome America.

Dude.

You're better than that.

Chuck Norris doesn't need a checklist..........

You gotta come stronger than that.

He didn't throw it...he roundhouse kicked it to New Orleans

I transferred from Harvard med to Kazakh national medical university because matching ROADs all at once was too easy. While there, I developed a vaccine for the common cold. The experience was essentially the same.

It's like a ZJ: If you have to ask, you can't afford it.
