hi, Iwas wondering has anybody heard of cell and mole biolgy without a lab component or at least the lab component being optional. the reason is i want to cut down on the amt of labs i do as they're time consuming and especially if it is not a prerequisite.

i took cellular and molecular bio. didnt have a lab component.

your school may be different

I took both (Cell Bio was one course and Molecular Biology and Genetics was another) and there was no lab component. Not a big deal. As the above poster stated, schools vary significantly. Just do well with what you have.

the labs were optional at my school and i just took the classes, not the labs. never really felt like i missed much either but that could just be my school.

My school's cell bio doesn't have a lab. Simple: if you don't need it and you don't want to take it, don't take it.

i have to also put another one up for cell bio w/ no lab component...if you want lots of interesting info though, this is your course!
