has anyone else simply NOT been able to schedule an interview?

this is a really good problem to have, i realize, but a problem nonetheless. there is a school that i love that i just heard from, and i have conflicts with all their dates until january.

i could bump another interview at a non-rolling school back, i guess, but i feel terrible doing that.

any thoughts about how rearranging interviews actually affects admissions chances?

Similar situation here. I wasn't able to schedule UCLA at all. They invited me for Oct; however, I won't be available. They tried to reschedule me for Nov and Dec, but those dates won't work out either. I asked if they had dates in January, but they didn't reply my phone call/ e-mail. I guess they have already thrown my app to the dumpster. So, rearranging interviews (or trying to postpone them too much) may affect your chance. That's my 2 cents. Good luck to you.

The program administrator at UCLA is SUPER busy. She told me yesterday that she doesn't have an assistant at the moment so she is doing two jobs at once. Try her again or Kelsey Martin - she's one of the directors and is really nice and helpful.

I don't think rescheduling interviews affects your admissions chances necessarily. But I also don't think it's a very professional or considerate thing to do unless you have some major extenuating circumstances that require you to reschedule. The other thing to consider is that you may think you love school X and are blah about school Y right now, but you may not feel the same way in six months once you've seen both schools. I went on 17 interviews two years ago when I applied, and my list of top five choices was very different in February than it was in August before I had seen any of the schools. IMHO, there is a good reason why you feel bad about bumping a commitment you've already made, and you should listen to your gut feeling. to you. 🙂

Thanks Q. I agree with you about visiting... I have had my opinions change a lot already. I finally got it worked out without having to reschedule anyone 🙂 thanks for the input!
