If so, what did you do?
This happened to my husband, who walked into a Formal Wear Shop and rented a tuxedo. For some reason he felt compelled to apologize for being overdressed.Has anyone had their suit lost/damaged right before an interview?

I didn't know you were a woman, let alone married. Anyways, what a power move to go in dressed in a tux. Big dick energy if I've ever seen itThis happened to my husband, who walked into a Formal Wear Shop and rented a tuxedo. For some reason he felt compelled to apologize for being overdressed.
Surprise!I didn't know you were a woman, let alone married.
It happens. Wear whatever you have, and explain to the Admissions dean and their staff. If so, what did you do?
What would you do if someone when in there and just told you they couldn't afford a suit (assuming you corroborated it with AMCAS)It happens. Wear whatever you have, and explain to the Admissions dean and their staff.
We'd cut you slack.
That would make a great interview question!!!!!What would you do if someone when in there and just told you they couldn't afford a suit (assuming you corroborated it with AMCAS)

Let me ponder this
Yes, my luggage was lost on my flight (got in at 9PM) and had interview early next morning. They said my luggage would arrive on a later flight that same night and the airline would delivery it to me (they said at 2AM the morning of my interview). That didn't happen. Went to interview in what I wore on the plane! (jeans, sneakers, blazer). Got accepted! Didn't matriculate there, though. If so, what did you do?

👍To be fair in 2019 “having a husband” doesn’t necessarily give away gender.
It never happened to me, but I always carried my suit with me on the plane in a garment bag cause I was so scared of this happening lol. But I'm pretty sure any school would understand if your bags were lost/stolen/damaged.If so, what did you do?
No, you don't need evidence. When you report the lost luggage, you'd be given a claim receipt regardless.@Catalystik @Goro @gonnif
If the airline does lose our luggage with the suit inside, should we get some type of letter from an airline representative at the arrival airport or some other kind of evidence (lost baggage slip) from the airline?
Hopefully it wasn't for your husband...Surprise!
I'd think that this person won't be able to afford medical school, and doesn't have enough brains to find a thrift store. What would you do if someone when in there and just told you they couldn't afford a suit (assuming you corroborated it with AMCAS)
Interesting perspective. On the other hand, I'd ding someone more for coming in with an ill fitting out of date suit than in business causal in this case (lets be real, 90%+ of the suits you'd find in a thrift store fall into this category)I'd think that this person won't be able to afford medical school, and doesn't have enough brains to find a thrift store.
There's an entire process of getting to the point of matriculation that requires the outlay of cash.Interesting perspective. Of course they can't afford medical school but how many of the applicants that you admit can pay for it out of pocket? He'd take loans just like everyone else
I agree. However, the way my classes were set up, I was able to go for a 5-day trip to Boston when I interviewed and only missed one class (on the day of the actual interview so it was excused) 🙂pro tip: just bring a carry on.
Do people really bring checked bags for a quick 1-2 day trip?
