Has anyone joined SDN while they were in high school and remained an active/semi active member through to their residency (or beyond?)

Just wondering...

I actually bet there are a lot of people that have been here from freshman year to residency. Just check out all the people that have join dates before 2004.

There are plenty of people that joined as a high school student even though hSDN didn't exist. They just used the pre-allo forum at that time.

I've been a lurker since high school & will try to contribute as much as I can in the future. I didn't realize back then how much I'd be using this site for application help years later, or else I would have joined.

I think the young ones registering on hSDN should receive a brief course on troll detection, typical pre-med vs. SDN pre-med, and on disregarding the general condescension found on this site, as to prevent becoming discouraged when their application year approaches.

I found this site as a freshmen in high school and now a sophomore in college. (lol, didn't really ad anything)

It wouldn't surprise me if there were many people who "stayed on board" after getting into medical school. The med school and residency forums are infinitely more useful than the pre-allo board, and there tends to be a much higher concentration of meaningful posts.

Eh... I haven't found the allo board to be terribly useful. I imagine the residency forums will be useful when I get to that point, but right now I mostly lurk in the pre-allo forums and answer questions.
