Has anyone scheduled their dat like a week before taking it?

i might re take my DAT if I don’t get in where I want to this cycle. But I don’t want to commit to a DAT date. I’d rather just study than schedule it whenever I’m ready, no deadline. Is this possible? Can I schedule a week before? Or does it usually take way longer to have available dates ?

I did two weeks before. As long as there's an opening it should be possible. Be sure an actual opening exists though. They fill up fast. Look up your local testing center and see what kind of openings they have.

It really depends on where you live. If you don't have a deadline, then I wouldn't worry about it too much. Just make sure you are regularly monitoring the availability at your testing center as the date approaches. Once you start to realize that the testing dates are filling up quickly around the time you wish to take it, you may want to sign up, unless you are fine with waiting another month. However, I have personally noticed when I was taking the DAT that about every week, a spot that was previously filled would open, probably due to someone who was planning to take their test in a week deciding to postpone to a later date. Since you don't have a specific deadline, I wouldn't worry too much. Scheduling your DAT just a week in advance shouldn't be a problem.
