1) So just found out 2014 applicants must have taken 3hrs of microbiology for UT Houston. I have every requirement, plus 2 semesters of biochem and analytical chem, both with lab. My school currently only offers a microbiology course for nursing majors and not one for science majors. Also I'm 1/3 of the way through the semester, so I would not be able to take it any way. Will this automatically keep me from getting in!

2) I need to look into where I can take it this summer, anybody know of online options for microbiology?

3) I have all A's and B's except for calculus I &II, I received C's. Are my math and physics classes part of my Science GPA?

Thanks for the help!

If you mean that you haven't applied yet (Class of 2019), then you have until you matriculate (another full year) to take microbiology, just mark it as "planned coursework" on AADSAS. Talk to your school about the Houston requirement and they should be able to work something out for you to take microbiology next semester.

Math and Physics are included in science GPA.

The school is called UTSD 😉 Anyhow, I was accepted to UTSD while taking micro and biochem and missing Physics 2. Take it during the summer, or put it in your planned courses. Community college may even be fine. This is like the least important thing ever. I was accepted to all 3 Texas schools with only 8, count'em, 8 hours of biology completed and 18 more planned.

Math should not be part of your science GPA, while physics is.

Straight from AADSAS:
Science GPA: All undergraduate courses identified on your transcript as Biology, Chemistry,
Physics, Math and Other Science is used in computing this GPA.

Thank y'all so much, I had been so busy with the DAT over Christmas and just now reading all the details about how to apply. My stress levels have dropped thanks to y'all lol
