Have you committed your AMCAS ID to memory?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Not if I were you. Just wait till you join med school, it will be like your new SSN and guys at bar would ask for your AAMC ID rather than your cell phone.. lol (assuming you're a girl)

You'll be using that mostly during application season. After that, it pretty much falls off the planet...

Incorrect!

You use the same ID for Step I, Step II and to apply to internships and residency

yeah i know mine for sure. i will always hold a special place in my heart for this number... not unlike the random numbers after my initials in my college email address 🙂

I haven't used my AMCAS ID # since applying, but I still have it memorized.

x2. Seems like wasted brain space right about now...

Not only do I have my AMCAS ID memorized, but I also have my credit card # and 3-digit security code (on the back of the credit card) memorized...

i remember once asking my mom (i was probably like 9 or so and just getting into pop music) if all the song lyrics i had memorized would leave no room in my brain for the stuff i was supposed to be learning in school.

lol...I was thinking the exact same thing

Me too. Damn Ebay.

Haha me too. She lied and said there was no limit to how much information the human brain can hold. The thing is, she went to law school, and so she never had the opportunity to feel the inadequacy first-hand.

Kinda stuck in my brain after having to use it to log in to my second secondary.

I can recite my AMCAS ID and my credit card number and expiration date, in my sleep. I don't think I can ever forget these numbers.

this is pathetic, but i used my amcas id as a password for awhile... once i got in i also bought a lotto ticket with those numbers. i lost.

Heck yes!!!! I know my AAMC + TMDSAS ID by heart.

I can cite them forwards, backwards, however you want it. This is what happens when you're on SDN too long and had filled out many secondaries and made numerous phone calls with an ID # as identification. 😀

I've actually forgotten my AMCAS ID number... had to look it up the other day to fill out the MSQ...:laugh::laugh:
