Please help me, I am honestly sitting here crying and freaking out and unsure what do do.

I'm graduating pharmacy school in CA next month and moving to NYC. I already signed a lease, so obviously under a lot of pressure to find a job since I am not going to match into residency.

During Xmas break I met with my dean who reviewed NYC licensure requirements and assured me I meet all of them. Basically to be licensed in CA I need 1500 intern hours, 600 of which are provided by school and 900 I had to get on my own. I earned about 950 hours by volunteering at two different pharmacisies throughout a school year and already had all the paperwork signed.

Well, it looks like I am not going to been eligible for MPJE based on the intern hours license requirement ? I don't have 1040 hours and mine were certainly not earned during breaks and some were overtime when I worked 6 days a week during summer.

Am I reading this correctly ?

Does this mean I am going to be in eligible to take MPJE ? Pease help me I am so distressed and freaked out, I am definitely not A&Ox 4 right now and my mind is clouded by my fears about how I am going to pay rent if I can't t licensed as a pharm. Please help!

I think that they take whatever hours your board of pharmacy records. They will only record hours in NY during breaks.

Yeah in CA they take whatever, so since I couldn't find an internship in our over saturated area during my first summer I basically started working during second year. So not sure what do to now I guess I am in eligible for licensure ?

Hey, just so you know there was a line somewhere on the site saying you're exempt from the hours req if you have a pharmd from an acpe accredited school of pharmacy. 🙂

Any one else have any input ?

Here is the line directly from the site - I am gonna call them in the morning but I am die of anxiety by that time:

Does this mean I am ineligible to take MPJE unless I submit my intern hours requirement ?

You only need to have the hours IF YOu want to take the exam before you graduate.. If you graduate, you don't need any hours

You are eligible. You will graduate with a Pharm.D this spring eliminating the need for intern hours. What you should really be concerned about is registration for NYS Part III exam since it is only offered in January and June each year. You might have already missed that deadline which would mean you could not be licensed before next January

Deadline is April 1st for that - I been watching it closely. My school is accredited
. Thank god because I think I lost 10 lbs in sweat and tears overnight. Pharmacy board confirmed what everybody said above - thank you so much though.
