Hey guys, I just finished my first year of dental school. I am planning on taking the boards early next year so i am studying for the boards during the summer. The problem is that its taking me along time to get through the gross anatomy cards.
When i go over stuff i understand it, but i spend 15 minutes extra nailing it in, in fear of forgetting the material. Should i just understand it ones and then move on, or try to nail it in. I am going through 13 to17 note cards a day. my buddy can scan through the note cards really fast, but he goes over the material multiple times. Should I spend more time on the material ones or spend little time, understand it ones, and move on, instead of naling it in( although I do ending forgetting some of the stuff) 😕 ?
My friend told me repetition is the key, but i have a tendency to spend more time on the material once. I just have trouble resisting spending more time on the material in order to really imprint it in my brain because that is the way i am used to studying.

Should i be using the USMLE book to study along with the dental decks or just the decks 😕 ?

I want to score in the 90s;that is my goal. Any input is appreciated. Sorry, my thoughts are really scattered.

Hey Quick,
I'm taking the test next month ( I hope ), I went over the decks, released questions, unreleased questions ( the best in my opinion), oh ya, I just bought the USMLE book, suppose to be helpful.
good luck

Hi Koili, i am not sure how to register for the dental boards. I am sure if you search it on this board you will find your answer. The way i am going to study for the boards is to go over the dental decks and the unreleased exams. I might go over the USMLE part 1 (Micro and path sections). From the people i have talked to, if you know the dental decks in and out and you have gone over the exams you should be able to do well. sorry about my late response 🙂
