Okay guys, so I'm sure you all noticed by now, that the RC section is either a hit or a miss. Most schools now have a cut off score of 17, which is why I'm retaking my DAT!

I figured to dedicate this thread to ANYONE willing to share their specific RC breakdown with passages/kind of questions. Sending me a pm (message) works the best.

I will compile all the information I can for the RC section after looking at people's breakdown's. Feel free to PM me what passages/questions you had/heard of, along with your email address so, I can gather all the information and help people needing it!

I believe americanpie is referring to this sentence:

I'm not saying I assumed this was aimed at getting material from the actual DAT, but I can see how it could be construed as such, now maybe you see where pie man's mind was?

I, for one, have difficulty tackling RC (since I'm EXTREMELY slow)...but I wouldn't dare share questions that were on my test. I had to choose my schools carefully with a 16 in RC though, and I'm sure I got denied by most schools due to my RC (and PAT) score. It sucks, but you do your best to prepare for next time! Good luck!

Its okay for people to say what topic their RC was on, its another to ask for people to supply them with specific questions on an exam.

hey guys,

this thread is well-meaninged, but sharing of any information, including specific question topics, reiterating questions, detailed RC passages, is construed as cheating. It says so right somewhere on the forms you sign to take the DAT.

I think that the best way to improve your RC score from below 17 to 19-20 is to read and skim quickly. If you can get to all three passages and answer the easy search-and-destroy questions correctly, that will get a decent score at the very least. Since the RC passages are between 1200-1500 words, aim for a reading speed of 400-500 words per minute, so you can finish reading the passages very quickly.

Thanks you guys for the responses. Lane138, I ended up buying a speed reading book and plan on getting my reading up to 500 wpm, I'm reading at 300 currently 🙂 ..

americanpierg, Im sorry if you feel that this is cheating in any way. Let me help you out with what I asked. I asked for peoples "specific rc breakdowns" not specific questions lol! You've been a member for 5 years. You should know members providing breakdowns are legit 🙂

Also, When I said "kind of questions," I am referring to tone/detail oriented questions. Along those lines!! I can see how you misinterpreted what was written. ..should'nt always assume the worst buddy! 🙂
