I have heard that it is good to select a different major than biology or biochem for pre-dental students. Would a health sciences degree in health management be a good major selection for undergraduate studies along with taking the required pre-requisite courses?

The major you choose has no effect on dental school admissions. Choose any major you like, just make sure to take the pre-reqs.

Definitely what Advance said. Choose whatever you are passionate about because that will help you kill the interview. I did a major similar to what you are thinking and I loved it!
