Its a bit of a general question, so please bear with me...

Is there a quick resource available (preferably on the web) that outlines the major dilemnas facing American Healthcare and possible solutions... anything outlining the ideas behing Universal healthcare. I am not looking for a book but rather a summary to just get an idea of whats going on.

Thanks

Actually, I think SDN is a great resource. Do a search for HMO's or healthcare issues. I think there's a thread called "What's the biggest problem in healthcare?" on here, but I couldn't get my computer to access the search function.

for a pro-consumer viewpoint,

http://www.nader.org/history/bollier_chapter_7.html

although it's hosted on ralph nader's website, the material is from CITIZEN ACTION AND OTHER BIG IDEAS, A History of Ralph Nader and the Modern Consumer Movement, by David Bollier

i'm concerned that a potential doctor needs a quick summary on health care issues before an interview.

but this is only my assumption
