Heard from these schools yet??

Just wondering...what have you guys heard from these schools:

Pitt, Emory, Mt. Sinai, Maryland, and Wake Forest?

I got a notification email from Wake, but nothing from the others! In fact, it says my MD app still isn't transmitted through AMCAS yet. Just wondering if any of you had talked to these schools to see what the deal is...thanks!😎

Got a secondary from Wake Forest today.

I got two emails from Wake today: one blank email and one explaining that they are having tech difficulties....anyone else have this problem?

I had the same two emails from Wake. Hopefully they get that fixed soon. We made it through there initial screening....whatever that means!

i actually got the secondary app from wake...they want you to log on and fill it out online

I'm still waiting on Emory and Mt. Sinai too. Wish they'd hurry it up. (didn't apply to the others, except for WF and got those dbl emails too)

Here are the essay questions for MCO:

1. If you are applying for the MD/PhD program, please document your background and interest in this program.

2. Briefly discuss any extenuating circumstances which you feel are pertinent to your application (bad grades, etc)

3. Cultural competence is defined as an awareness, understanding and ability to use specific methods to deal effectively with cultural issues and its role in health and health care. Please discuss a life experience in which you feel you demonstrated cultural competence.

In my opinion the third MCO question, which is the only one I really have to answer is the most ******ed question. Yeah, I just thought I'd say that, no reply or support asked.

I agree, it is worded really weird and I can't figure out what they are asking for--does the experience have to relate to the health care field somehow? Do you understand it?
