So I've talked to other OT's and directors of Rehab who say that Sam. Merritt graduates are very well educated/respected.

I left the interview and all the people in the cohort were happy about attending and said there is tons of faculty help and they feel confident.

HOWEVER

I do understand that it's may not be THE hardest school to get into..but increasingly more so as the profession becomes more popular.

I got accepted and am eccstatic to go as I love the profession and the bay area BUT-
from others is it true that other allied health people/ OT's look down on it as a school of last resort?

Of course I'm also worried about what I'm going to take home after income taxes and debt :/ any suggestions??

????

Any feedback helps thanks!

From what I've heard from the OT's that I currently work with (I'm currently a rehab tech), getting into ANY (accredited) OT program is an accomplishment. There is a huge rise in the number of applicants and a limited number of programs. They've said that employers will understand that. With the demands for OT's growing, graduation from an accredited prorgram and passing the NBCOT exam, it shouldn't be too hard to find a job!

Congrats on getting into a program 🙂 You should be celebrating!

Hey thank you so much for responding. I really appreciate your feedback and yes I agree with your colleagues each year applicant pools are definitely rising big time!

Thank again and yes I am proud of myself and I know I'll find good work I just have some angst ha.

thank you.

take care.

I have never heard anyone describe it as a last resort school.
