Hi!!! PLEASE ADVISE: I was planning on applying this cycle to med school and i dont know why im so dumb but I used AP Bio credit for intro level bio (one semester) and I haven't taken a full year of biology courses. I wasn't pre-med in the beginning of college so I didn't look up all the requirements and just assumed. I haven't taken an upper level bio courses. Do i have to wait a year and take a post bacc???

Absolutely no upper division bio...? How you do that? Have you taken any upper division bio-related chemistry (like Biochem or the like)? Maybe a lower division anatomy class...anything that would show non-high school proficiency in biology?

There are enough medical schools that accept AP bio that if you get MSAR then you should be able to strategically pick your schools....however, just as an entering medical student I wonder if it might be difficult with no higher-level biology background...

Requirements don’t have to be fulfilled until matriculation. On the off chance you don’t have any biochemistry or upper division biology on your transcript then you can do a CC course the summer before med school and fulfill the requirement if the school presses for it.

That said, have you met all of the other requirements and checked all other boxes, including the mcat?

I've taken every other pre-requisite (2 years of chemistry organic and inorganic, biochem, physics, english). I hadn't planned on being premed when I took the bio course and I'm a humanities major. I have excelled in every single one of these courses and you don't need upper level bio for the MCAT. I am currently testing ~510 on Kaplan FLs so I'm expecting a higher AAMC. I am only asking if it's recommended to do a postbacc for a whole year sequence or if I can supplement with a summer course.

Not even just a supplemental course, but I would take one course each semester next year. Take a cell biology or micro course and an anatomy/physiology course.
