Hi Everyone,

So I submitted my Columbia MPH application the other day. I called them today to make sure they received my transcripts and GRE scores but they told me to look online. Do you know where exactly I can find the updated info about the status of my transcript/scores?

Thanks

I submitted my application on the 23rd (and sent my transcripts and scores long before that), and today, finally, they posted the statuses of my transcripts and GRE scores: not yet received. I plan on calling about it tomorrow. My guess is that they still need to update it.

P.S. The statuses of the transcripts and scores will appear right below your references on the main page.

anyone have any sense as to when columbia decisions will begin to be released?

hmm my application status says incomplete but all the necessary documents have been marked received.

ehh?

I have the same issue and had a mini panic attack until I saw this posting! I'm guessing with the holidays and all the admissions dept just hasn't gotten to updating these things yet. Will someone let us know if/when they notice the status of their materials is updated.

It is not just the holidays.. I submitted my app way back in October and it has been incomplete ever since. I'm not going to stress over it since it says all my stuff has been received. It is rather annoying though...

I received an email saying that they should have all application statuses updated by Jan 18th.

Does anyone know if the admissions committee updates the receipt of the GRE scores and transcripts separately? I sent in my transcript in October and it still says that the document is not yet received...I sent my official scores (GRE) on December 30th and those have been marked as delivered

SIGH.

No idea but I sent my GRE scores a long time ago and my transcripts sometime in October. When I asked them in November if they had my documents/information they said they did but for both my transcripts and GRE it is still marked "Not Received".

Same here.

I also got the email that Columbia's website should be updated by the 18th, but I checked today and it still says they haven't received my GRE scores. Is anyone else having this problem? I called and they said they might not have them, or they might have them but haven't uploaded them. I took the GRE late, but the scores were mailed in December.

I called today bc my transcripts status was "not received". She said they're still updating/matching all the documents and that if anything is missing, the office will send out an email..

In my case, i didnt notice that it said ''application incomplete'' until last week even tho everything was in and submitted/received etc. I emailed them and they corrected it.

It takes time for them to update the site, but email them for sure just in case.

I also called yesterday, they said that they were still catching up. So just wait until they upload everything...

My app is marked as complete! 👍

Does anyone know when will they start making decisions?

Via email:

"The decisions that go out in mid-March are for the MPH programs with the January 5th deadline"

Mid-March.

wow so late ... i check my email way too often these days 😛

My transcripts have finally been marked as "Received"! Yay. I only just sent them, oh...in October.

Ah, sweet alma mater. Terrible with timeliness. Good to know that things haven't changed since the 2006 cycle.

If you all have any Columbia SPH questions (e.g. Who is the Mailman?) feel free to PM me or start a thread.

has anybody heard from Columbia yet? I'm getting worried!

So am I the only one left with an 'incomplete' on my app?

No, I'm still incomplete as well. They still have not matched my GRE scores with my application.

Last year everyone heard back March 10th.
They are taking so long with the application process, I'm trying to forget about the whole experience!

Yeah, i also still had "incomplete" listed on my app so I e-mailed them yesterday. They are apparently having problems with their server and said that everything is complete. They got back to me really fast so I suggest if you're concerned, go ahead and shoot them off an e-mail.

They also said they'd be sending out admissions notices in the first weeks of March... this is a pain for me as I'm in Europe and am trying to organize a trip back stateside to visit schools I've gotten into............ grrrr!

Did anyone receive information about the 2010-2011 Columbia Financial Aid Application? The FAQs said it was due on Feb. 1, but the site said that it's not available yet.

I got that email in November, but I wasn't able to complete my FAFSA until 2/3 since I had to wait for my w-2.

Do you have a link to the application PDF?

I asked Charles Liriano in the FinAid office about the deadline and his reponse was:

"The FAFSA is due February 1st, 2010. Please use your last pay stub of 2009 or you can use estimates to complete the application. The 2010-2011 Columbia Aid application is not yet available. We anticipate making the application available soon. Please keep checking our website for the columbia aid application. These are the only forms needed for financial aid unless a scholarship requires a separate application."

I'm assuming the FAFSA is due Feb 1 but the school application is due later. He didn't give me date as to when the application will be available or when it will be due.

Oh sorry! I meant, they sent me an email telling me I have to do the following by 2/1

1. FAFSA (uh, I guess I already failed on this one)
2. Their FinAid app (I checked the website and it says it's not up yet)
3. Refer to their scholarships page for more info

Darn it! I can't believe I missed their FAFSA thing by a day! :-( :-(

Call or email the FinAid office and see if they'll still accept it. I'm sure you're not the only one who applied late bc you waited for your W-2 forms. I submitted a FAFSA based on last year's information, so I'll have to file a correction FAFSa now that I have my W-2s.

I e-mailed them asking about the Feb 1st deadline.

They didn't sound too hard on the Feb 1st deadline for FAFSA, especially since the other form isn't even available yet. They just said to get it in as soon as possible.

If they want to self select me out by not accepting my FAFSA that is their problem.

Did you apply to any other east coast schools? It probably won't be too difficult to go to NYC if you'll be visiting Boston, etc.

You should plan a trip to NYC 😍 anyway even if not to visit Columbia.

You know what? That might not be the correct application. If you look at it, there's a part where you have to write essays about your high school experience and how it might have impeded you. This is probably for the entering freshmen?

Also, at http://www.mailman.columbia.edu/prospective-students/financial-aid/how-apply , #2, it says the application is not yet available.

I wish Columbia had a better organized system.
