Help! Do I need to retake DAT?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
State: Florida im guessing?

If you can dedicate yourself full-time to re-taking it AND can take it before June 1st, I would do it.

Basically, if you are going to take it, do not **** around with this

Also, make sure to apply ASAP because admissions are rolling.

Cheers 🙂

I think that if you apply to a lot of schools, and if you apply early, you'll get interviewed....

Sorry, but a 19AA and TS shows a disconnect between your GPA and DAT scores. With that kind of GPA, I'm pretty sure most schools will like to see a 21+

Another option I'm considering is just applying to see what happens. And if I don't get in then I retake and make my application stronger.

A 19/19, nothing below a 17, and a 4.0? There's no way I would retake the DAT

yeah what is up with all of this advice, youre more than fine

You have a perfect gpa and a slightly above average DAT score. If you applied with these scores, you're going to get into dental schools. I would retake only because a 21+ could put you up for consideration for some nice scholarships, and based on your academic record I think a 21 is more than feasible.

With a solid one or two months of studying, I'm sure you can raise your scores. Yes, you can get into a school with those scores, but wouldn't you rather have your pick? It will be well worth it to retake, get your pick of schools and open the door to scholarships that could be worth tens of thousands of dollars
