Hi all. I have about 45-50 schools I am planning to apply to - I know, I know; it's a lot. This is my first time applying and I really don't want to apply again, thus I tried to put together a diverse list. I'm willing to put in work on writing secondaries and am going to start pre-writing some. Any advice about schools I can take out (with reasons why) and suggestions for schools I could add (especially oos friendly schools) would be great!

Stats: 3.76cGPA (strong upward trend), sGPA ~ 3.70, major GPA (7 classes) ~ 3.94
1st MCAT: 505 (low cars) 2nd MCAT: 517 (balanced)
CA resident; graduated from UC; non-urm
Clinical/patient contact/shadowing
-volunteer/leadership/extensive patient contact at a clinic in an underserved area. 3Yrs/ 500+hrs
-clinical research at an ER. 1.5yrs /200hrs
-shadowed surgical specialties. 4 months/ 100 hours
Research:
-bench research; (was more of an assistant) no pubs/posters/abstracts. 1.5yrs /200hrs
Non clinical/volunteering/Other:
-Americorps volunteer ~ 9months/1700 hours
-2 internships
-involved in 3 clubs: good amount of leadership
-one sport, and another random hobby throughout college

School List:
All UCs; U of A both locations; CO
Frank Netter; Georgetown/washington; U Miami; Emory; Loyola; Ros Franklin
Rush; Tulane; Tufts; BU; U Maryland; Michigan; William Beaumont Oakland
Duke; Mayo; Wake Forest; Creighton; Darthmouth; Cooper of Rowan U
Hofstra; NYMC; Albany; Rochester; Einstein; Case; OSU; Toledo
Penn State; Drexel; Jefferson; Temple; VCU; Wisconsin; VA commonwealth; West VA
Northstate; U Wash; Marshall U; Eastern Va; VA tech

U Washington accepts very few applicants from states that it is not contracted with (CA is not one of them). Half of Toledo's non residents accepted are from Michigan. Cooper only accepts 20 non residents.

Great, I will reconsider those schools. Do you think there any oos friendly schools which are not on my list?

If any adcoms could chime in @Goro @gyngyn @LizzyM I would really appreciate it! Just want to make sure I have enough schools so I'll get some interviews.

Form your list, keep

Loyola;
Ros Franklin
Rush;
Tulane;
BU;
Duke;
Mayo;
Wake Forest;
Creighton;
Darthmouth;
Hofstra;
Albany;
Rochester;
Einstein;

Temple;
VCU;
Eastern Va

Consider SLU, MCW

Delete Northstate, MI, UW, MD, and Duke.

Add SLU, Mayo (AZ), U of IL and maybe OHSU (depending on how they view multiple acceptances).

Thank you! Any reason for the IL suggestion? I see from MSAR that they have a strong IS bias and their first year class is over 300 students.
