hey guys, i need some help. one of my friends, a current PGY2 resident, has decided to switch into PM&R. there is not a PM&R program at this hospital. he was thinking of scrambling into a spot this week. is this even possible if he did not originally apply through ERAS? is this even the best strategy for him? i think he would be most interested in getting a PGY2 spot for this summer. have you heard of any openings? any suggestions? thanks in advance!

The PGY2 positions available through the scramble would all start 7/09

you don't have to "scramble" if you're already a resident. IMG students and AMG graduates (interns, residents), and i think osteopath students too, CAN sign with a program outside the match. but, what program's have spots?? i'd try to get your hands on an unfilled list this year and have your friend throw his CV out to every program that didn't fill (even if they aren't necessarily looking for a pgy2). ANY student who didn't match will get the full list unfilled spots in every program and every specialty. i'm sure there will be posting on various websites across the net...check it out.

good luck,
chris
