HELP! Grades post acceptance

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Ouch, this is a tough situation. Go into the community college administration office and see if you can withdrawal or cancel your enrollment. Most schools it's too late to just get a W for a single course, but you may be able to cancel your enrollment, which would result in all W ''s in all classes enrolled in... Since you're taking one class, it will result in the one W.

If that doesn't work, and your professor won't pass you with a C then you're ****ed and be at the mercy of the school that accepted you. Don't hide it, tell them ASAP.

Stop freaking out. SDN can't help you. You need to be an adult and call your accepted school, explain yourself, and ask them about their policy, and then talk to the community college and see if they can get it dropped.

Honestly...one course..at a community college post-graduation should definitely not make any difference. As other posters have pointed out already:
1. Try to see if it can be converted to a W.
2. Try to convince your professor to let you pass..maybe with some extra credit. explain your situation.
3. Call the med school explain how you couldn't attend classes due to interviews (very reasonable) and so you lost out and how it will never happen again.

One of these things will work out. I don't see any lasting issues from this.

Try contacting your professor (or the department if you must) and politely explain why you couldn't make class due to the interviews. If that doesn't work, I'm sure your medical school deans office will be reasonable.

You knew about the attendance policy and you knew you were exceeding it. Why didn't you drop the class? Go deal with the cc and see if they'll help you. I wouldn't tell the med school until you've exhausted all
Options with the CC. Good luck!

Did u list this course on amcas? If not you could possibly not report it. There's no way med school will know

Did you not talk to the professor about your absences, and why they occurred? You have a legitimate reason for absence that should be taken into consideration. I really don't understand how someone can hold a medical school acceptance and at the same time be unable to have a professional conversation with their instructor.

ADCOMs are people. If you end up failing, just explain the situation to the office when you send in your transcripts. Because you've been accepted, you probably have a strong academic record and they will understand. You could offer to retake it for a higher grade over the summer or next semester if they need proof it was situational and not laziness/poor performance.

Okay, don't do this. You have to submit a transcript from every university you've ever attended. If they find out you didn't, you can get in a lot of trouble.
Please do not offer ****ty advice.

You joined SDN two days ago. Don't give horrible advice that could harm a persons application! Read up and gather information before you start spouting misinformation. You must report and send transcripts from every college you attended. Med Schools can find out and probably will when your name is run through the College Clearinghouse.

Talk to the prof. You have extenuating circumstances. If that doesn't work, bring it to the department chair, then to the dean, etc.
You are in the right here. Try to get what you deserve.
