Hi everybody,
I want to know my chances! I am real, real, real, real, real, I mean real WORRIED!!!
Just so you know my stats, I got a 240 on the usmle, I am in the top 20% of my class, which is a good U.S. MD school, but here is the clincher....I.....I.......I...no, I can't say it, no,no,no,no, there goes my dream of reading xrays and making big bucks....I have honored 99% of my courses, I have authored 2 papers, but I only passed peds!!!!!!! Am I doomed? Will I ever get rads? Am I going to never get in?
What you have just experienced is the most annoying story in the world, people going into each and every forum (especially the ones were you make big bucks after residencey) and crying pathetically about a miniscule blemish on their otherwise perfect resume. This is while some of us less stellar applicants, yes we know who we are, sit back and wonder how we will ever get a position. Ah well it hopefully will all work out in the end, but please no more stories about people in the top of their class with usmle scores over 230 and how you messed up one little thing and now your world is crashing all around you, b/c it gets old and you really aren't intimidating the people that are borderline candidates, you are just sounding pretty dumb for someone who has done so well grade wise.
