Hey all,

I'm currently registered to take the MCAT on JUNE 17th, but after taking several practice tests, I know I'm not prepared to take it. The deadline to change my test date is TOMORROW at 9am and I am trying to reschedule my test, but somehow the link for rescheduling does not appear on my AAMC account. Where and how do you reschedule?

NOTE: This is my second reschedule; I was originally supposed to take the test in April, but I got scared and pushed it back. Does AAMC have a cap for how many times you can push it back? It shouldn't, right? (I mean they're taking my money and it isn't costing them a thing.)

PLEASE, PLEASE reply. I'm desperate.

This is what I have from my registration:
The Regular Registration deadline (June 3, 2010 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time) is also the last available day to reschedule or cancel your appointment and this date for your scheduled MCAT Exam.

I was planning to reschedule as well. I think that it is a computer error, but I plan on calling them tomorrow morning as we should have until tomorrow night.

Thanks for replying! I also plan on calling tomorrow, too, because I'm really not ready and I don't understand how the link isn't showing up. Anyway, if you don't show up on the test date, does anything happen?

Also, if I do show up, I heard that you could cancel your test score after taking the test, right?

I'm not sure what happens if you don't show up for your test.

You can definitely void your test after you take it. Some of my friends have done that as a practice to just get a feel for the real thing and help with their test day anxiety...but it's a pretty expensive practice test.

If you're going to spend the $200 and not get a score, it would be better to use it as practice than to not show up at all, in my opinion.

Yeah, I know it's pretty expensive.

I tried Apc's method and when I logged in, I kept getting a page error. Perhaps there is a bug on the website. Anyway, I suppose worse comes to worse I can take it anyway and see how it goes and if I feel really terrible about it, I can always void it.

Ugh.

Thanks again for responding. I was having a near-panic attack earlier.

Don't worry too much.
Chilax, go to bed early and make sure you call them
you have more than a couple of weeks to become prepared (take some FL exams)
and of course you can always void

Glad it's not just me! I was waiting until the last minute to reschedule hoping that a July test date would open up near me. I went to my account to check the available seats and the reschedule link is no longer there! Ugh. We should have until tomorrow night to reschedule. My guess is that they put the deadline in the computer as midnight June 3 instead of midnight June 4. I sent them an email, and I'll call in the morning as well.

I tried to go to the rescheduling link given above, but it says "You do not have the required registration status to view this page."

To answer the OP's question: It's my understanding that if you don't show up then it's like you never even registered, and it doesn't show up on your record.

How many times can you reschedule?

How much money do you have, then I can tell you exactly.

I know people who have rescheduled multiple times.

Just to follow up with everyone...I logged on yesterday morning and the link to reschedule was there and so I was able to push back my test date.

I guess it really was a website bug.
