ok...here is my story....I just took the DAT and got TS:20 PAT:23 AA:19
the 19 is due to me getting a 17 on both QR and RC....I just suck at math and I t know what happen in RC...I was getting 18-20 during practice. My GPA is low 3.01 and 2.9sci...

Do I have any chances of getting into dental school? This will be my third time applying. Please be honest with me....what should I do now...I'm so so sad!!!! 🙁

Your DAT scores are fine. Even the 17s won't kill you. You should be pleased with your DAT. It's your GPA that will kill you. You still might have a chance but what the hell do I know. You know more about the game than most of us here so you shouldn't be asking us. Ask yourself how your application has improved since last cycle to see if your chances have improved.

see, now im scared as hell. cuz my GPA is exactly like yours, both sci. and general. however, my DAT was better, but PAT lower.

Congrats on your scores! I believe that your stats are enough to get you in somewhere... I've browsed these forums long enough to see people get in with your GPA's (mostly NYU and BU). I'm just curious though, did you apply yet? This is a very important step for people with average to low GPA's. Applying in May/June is the best advice I was given, otherwise, you'll probably be climbing a long uphill battle...

Yes, I applied already...but not as early as I should have.

Damn!!!! I should have apply sooner, but I was waiting for classes from summer school. I was hoping it would increase my GPA, but ran into some problems and someone from ADEA told me that they will not send out my app. unless I send them a new transcript with the new grade... Went to my school and they told me my grades will not be posted for another 2 weeks... Stupid School!!!!

I wrote back to ADEA and told them to go ahead and send with out the new classes. I know this is the third time I'm applying, but I didn't find this site until early this summer. So I was applying just for the heck of it (I didn't really put that much effort) The 1st two time, I called the school and they told me as long as I could get all 20's I'll be ok....as you all can see....I didn't get the "all 20's!!!"

Now I'm freaking out!!!! I'm getting too old for this!!!

which school told you that as long as you get 20s you will be okay. i am asking this b/c i have a 2.93 overral but i still have 2 more semesters to graduate with biol degree, and my science is higher than overall.

this is important, i'd like to know the school so that i could keep it as my selection when applying.

problem I had with low GPAs was making it past the school filters so they'll actually review my overall application instead of just tossing it because I don't meet their numbers cutoff.

eventually worked out for me though, so keep your chin up.

problem I had with low GPAs was making it past the school filters so they'll actually review my overall application instead of just tossing it because I don't meet their numbers cutoff.

may i ask what your stats were and which school you applied to. So they interviewed you even if you didn't make the school cutoff.

was your GPA lower than 3.0 and you got accepted, how did you do on your DAT.

also one more, you did where well on your DAT, for someone who has no clue, may i ask, how you got that high, is there a method, like a prep course, or certain books,

damn my gpas worse than everyone sci:2.79 overall:2.84 but my DAT a lil higher 23/24/19...do you guys think that I should take extension classes this coming fall quarter....jus graduated last spring...applied end of july but I called AADSAS and they said that my printout not going to be mailed for another week and a half so dunno what I should do rite now or within the next couple of months to improve my app...any advice will be appreciated...

Great scores! You're chances are much better than what you are giving yourself credit for. 20's across the board sounds like UOP to me. I had a 15 on the QR section and I was just fine and you should be too. Best of luck!

thanx a lot for the encouragement...but i cant help to feel like i have a bleak chance bc of my terrible gpa...any suggestions on what i should be doing rite now tho?
