Hi everybody🙂

please give me your input, you can be brutally honest, its ok, I can take it!
I am a little bit ( ok, a lot of bit) concerned about getting accepted into the schools I applied too. I would like to know if I should A) retake the GRE, or B) apply to some other schools.

I have already applied to a ton, but sadly didnt make the prereqs for some and don't have enough time to get all of them done, so right now i am looking at about 18 schools...

my stats: dont laugh! 🙂
Major: health sciences
gre: verbal- 150, quant- 145, AW- 5/6

gpa: overall- 3.20, prereq- 3.22 (but still have some prereqs to take...and I believe there is a class that shouldve been deleted from my gpa which it wasnt, so that might help a littlee..)

about me: I was an NCAA athlete (womens ice hockey) for all four years, paid and non paid intern at a physical therapists office, 470 hours PT observation, ice hockey instructor/coordinator, 4 letters of reference (one from spinal surgeon, 2 from physical therapists/clinic directors (both of them are the co directors of where the washington Redskins go) and one from my advisor/professor.

I applied and havent heard from anywhere yet: alot of these schools I just did out on a whim, figured i might as well try even though I know my chances are non existent)
chapman, USC (haha, worth a shot right?) old dominion University, Marymount University, Belmont University, GW, Univ of Colo, Univ of AB (missing prereqs), CSU-long beach, MGH in oston, BU, UNC chapel Hill, Radford U, Univ of tenn health science center

heard back from: Belmont, asking to hold my application...but cant offer an interview at this time, is that a waitlist or a nice way of denying me?

I hope you all have some insight, because I am TERRIFIED!

There is really no reason to get upset. You may still get lucky and one of those schools might accept you. If not, then it really is not a big deal.

Lets look at the worst case scenario, which is you getting rejected by all of them. If that happens, just spend the next year retaking all of your prereq classes at a local community college. You could easily bring your gpa to around 3.4-3.5 and your prereq gpa to 4.0. Then you would have more time to study for the GRE and retake it.

You have a lot of positive aspects of your application already. All you're lacking is the raw numbers, which is actually the easy part at this point. You will eventually get into a program if you're determined. Getting rejected one year does not mean you're out of the game.

you're be fine! I got a 143q and 153v and 4w, and I got into three schools already and I had a bunch of interviews in the past two months some of which I had to decline because they were too far away. and i only had 165hrs inpatient/outpatient. you look well rounded, the gre is only part of the whole application. I was afraid my gre would not let me into any programs either.

You have a solid resume! With all those schools you are bound to get into one! Wouldnt worry any more about what you cant control

what schools did you get accepted into? if you don't mind me asking? and thank you everybody for your input, it is great to know people are responding!

I'd retake the classes you got a C/B in if I were you.

check out Mercer U in Atlanta Ga, the GPA requirements arent super high.

Here are my stats:
Major: Neuroscience
GRE: 151 V 153 Math 3 on writing (awful)
pre-req gpa: 3.33
cum: 3.28

I m really involved in campus programs and I have a job with 250 observation hours

I had an offer to interview at UTSW and Tech so far and I got into UTSW and decided not to go to Tech interview.

You have so much hope!!! DO NOT GET DISCOURAGED!!!
Your gpa is not bad and your gre isn't bad!!!
Go get 'em!
