Hey, guys

I have been doing the ek mcat 1001 bio passages and was just wondering if the actual mcat bio passages well be the same in terms of difficulty?

What about the KP onling Bio sectional tests, I found some to be hard and test material too deep that apparently the mcat did not say to study?

ALSO TO THOSE WHO DID THE MCAT, DID YOU THOUGHT THE EK 1001 BIO PASSAGES WAS HARDER OR EASIER, AND USUALLY SINCE THE EK 1001 MCAT BIO BOOK DOEST NOT HAVE A SCORE CONVERSION I USUALLY SCORE MYSELF USING THE E-MCAT SCORE CONVERSIONS FOR THE FL AAMC TESTS. ANYONE ELSE DO THAT?

THANKS IN ADVANCE

hey

come on and reply, there has to be someone online who knows this.

I though I reply since it is slipping out of the first page.

I got my copy of the book today. So far, I've done the first two lectures and I think its great for learning the material. The passages are somewhat MCAT style but I don't think its really quite at a MCAT-level difficulty. I think its more useful for 'learning on the job' so to speak; going through all the questions in all the different Biology topics will pretty much ensure that you know the basic biology concepts. Even the passages are instructive.

However, some of the facts are a little overkill. They could show up in a discretes or two, I suppose, but I don't think knowing the difference between euchromatin and homochromatin will make that much of a difference. I also had no idea that we might need to know certain amino acids and their properties. But it won't hurt to at least be familiar with them.

In conclusion, don't even try to match the Bio difficulty of the passages in the 1001 book to an actual BS score. They're more instructive and don't have close to the same difficulty that real MCAT Biology passages have. But I think its great for learning the little facts behind Biology.

From Roadrunner: "They could show up in a discretes or two, I suppose, but I don't think knowing the difference between euchromatin and homochromatin will make that much of a difference."

Homo-chromatin? Sorry I just thought it was funny. I didn't think Chromatin had a perference but I guess since there's a HETERO-chromatin, perhaps it's only fair.

The point of the 1001 book isn't to covert to real 1-15 scores.
It is an educational tool to help you learn the material and become a bit more familiar with the format.

Because of the way the MCAT is scored (curved), you really can't turn these into real scores.

Okay, now say it with me, "NO MORE ALL CAPS EVER."

This isn't the late 90s when people were still learning web etiquitte.
