q] which of the foll uses ketone bodies as major fuel in the fed state?
Liver
Muscle
Adipose tissue

q]A single impulse travels down the alpha motor neuron resulting in
the activation of single motor unit
the contraction of one muscle fibre

q] What occurs when venous blood reaches the lungs?
Movement of bicarbonate ions from erythrocyte to plasma
Movement of bicarbonate ions from plasma to erythrocyte

q]Why the Digestive action of salivary amylase continues for some time after swallowing?
a. Gastric Hcl increases the digestive action of amylase
b.The amylase inside the bolus is protected from inactivating action of gastric Hcl

in Iq , Brain uses ketone bodies but only during starving /fasting state.
Acc to me the ans should be Muscle :scared:
Wat do u say??

All other q's , agree wit shuntyman

q]A single impulse travels down the alpha motor neuron resulting in

Agree wit the ans but when does the contraction of muscle fibre happen😕

I thought a single alpha neuron innervates many muscle fibers, forming a motor unit. So, impulses traveling down an alpha neuron automatically causes contraction of many muscle fibers.

Maybe if the neuron is cut and another alpha neuron (that is part of a different pool) starts to innervate the atrophying muscle fibers, you could get partial contraction because not all of the fibers have been re-innervated yet.

Thoughts?

for the first answers is: muscle, too,
because in well fedstate heart and muscle use ketones and in state of starvations- brain.
I hope that is help~🙂

anyone can explain this please?

are you SURE THAT IS THE ANSWER??????? i dont think that's right.
my answer would be Movement of bicarbonate ions from erythrocyte to plasma
because (according to me) bicarbonate would come out of erythrocyte near the lung and dissociate into hydrogen ion and carbon dioxide and then CO2 would be taken out of the body.

about 70% of co2 is carried in the body in the form of plasma bicarbonate ...when it reaches the lungs this bicarbonate is transferred from plasma to erythyrocyte where it dissociates into hydrogen ions and co2...this co2 is then exchanged for o2 between the alveolar membrane and blood

thats what i said, bicarbonate would have to dissociate into hydrogen ion and CO2 in order to be eliminated from body....
