Hi there, my tentative school list is 10 schools:

LECOM-B
NSU
RVU
SOMA (AT)
KCUMB
KCOM (AT)
AZCOM (MW)
CCOM (MW)
PCOM
PCOM-GA

Also TCOM, but that's for TMDSAS.

LizzyM of ~65
100+ hours clinical volunteering, 100+ hours shadowing, ~70 hours non clinical volunteering.
DO letter, 2 from science, 1 from non-science, and 1 from supervisor.

Thanks!

You are good, you will likely get interviews to like 75% of those schools.

I applied with worst stats (both gpa and MCAT) and I applied to 10 DO schools and just by October I had 6 interview invites. So I imagine you will be in even better shape.

AACOMAS GPA will likely be 3.9 overall 3.8 science with a few retakes. 29 MCAT (9/9/11).

Any other schools I should consider or include? Texas resident. Mostly wanting to stay away from the north due to climate lol, would make exception for certain places like CCOM.

Thanks!
Your stats are very very solid for DO schools, so congrats on that! Same with awesome sauceome - I had stats slightly below yours and got 6+ interview invites and an acceptance from all but 1 interview I attended. All but one of those interviews happened in September/October.

If you're gonna make the exception for the cold with CCOM, I would definitely consider adding PCOM and/or RowanSOM. Both are great schools in the philly area (which has much nicer weather than chicago for sure!!)

I would second that, I would drop CCOM for PCOM/Rowan. Besides the fact that Chicago is freaking freezing and gets a crap ton of snow (a little lake effect business going on there), CCOM is also very expensive. PCOM is just as good, has better weather, and is cheaper.

Western has nice weather.

I agree with the CCOM/Pcom swap out (cheaper and just as good of a school).

Philly vs Chicago!

What's the TMSDAS policy on retakes?
They don't do grade replacement, just like AMCAS. So I'm basically sitting as a borderline candidate for Texas schools, MCAT hurt me there.

Looking for some more input at this point of the cycle....I have only received II to LECOM-B and AZCOM from that list above that I originally applied. I ended up adding VCOM-Auburn and got a II there.

I recently added Western COMP and TUNCOM to my application. How are my chances for II at these two places? I am also strongly considering adding BCOM, any opinions about that?

Thanks!

I plan on going DO and taking the USMLEs in addition to COMLEX. Does anyone know which DO schools have the best placements into non-primary care allopathic residencies?
