help! need advice!

I had an interview at columbia on Dec 8. They told us that they would mail out the decision letters on Dec 18. I didn't receive the letter, so i called the office. The lady told me that they did not make a decision for me because the faculty who interviewed me did not attend the meeting of the committee. She cannot tell me when the decision will be made for me. What should i do? so far, i am only accepted by NYU. The deadline to pay deposit is Jan 15. Originally i only have these two schools which is a very bad idea. Although I applied for some other schools around Nov, I wouldn't be able to hear from any of them before jan 15. Should i attend NYU, or should i wait for other schools? a lot of people told me NYU has bad reputation...and it's pretty late now, my chance of getting into Columbia or any other schools is smaller...sorry for being anxious, but i need to hear some advice to make me feel better 🙂... thank you~~

If you really want to attend Columbia or some other school, you can wait till next week to make the deposit for NYU and then withdraw when you get accepted to your preferred school. Ofcourse you lose your deposit though!!!
