write it like a normal CV whatever u have done in dental school.. well thats what i did . but if ure called for an interview , dont show that ure great as a dentist , just be polite and say that even though u are a trained dentist , u are more than willing to work as an asssitant..
simply because a dentist may be a little insecure that he has another dentist , sitting on his head .. and watching judging ... well this is what i read somewher e on this forum....
do a search on this forum, there are numerous posts on similar topics...

Hi dentb'lore,
you stay in IL right? if u give a resume saying that you are a dentist , i think the chances of getting a job as dental assistant is very less here. i tried it and failed.but when i submitted a resume without showing my dental degree but just my education in a dental school and my experience as a dental assistant( i told so but i have experience as an intern and not as a dental assistant) i got a job. so try it that way and i hope it will work . atleast it worked for me. wish you good luck.

could u plz tell what they might ask..and abt the dress code for the interview. b'coz this is my first time iam trying...

congrats . so th efirst step is done. in the interview they may ask you what did you study in india.? when they asked me this i said i studies 5 years in a dental college and did one year internship.But i didn't mention that i have a degree. and about the experience i told him i worked in a dental clinic as an assistant on part time basis while studying in my school . He asked me what all i have done as a dental assistant. i told i have taken x-rays, arranged instruments, have done sterilization, assisted dentist in all procedures and made impressions , poured casts, worked in the reception etc.. say only those things that an assistant do and not all those that u have done as a dentist. I got th ejob as an experienced dental assistant with $ 13 /hr. hope it will work for u. wish u all the best in the interview.
