Hi,

As you got still 9 more days in hand ,just go threw kaplan reveiw dental anatomy ,your douts will b clarified
Also check tutorials threads ,some body explained all the movements, right ,left ,working, nonworking, ideal occl.relations very well..very simple too

hope this helps u

Good 👍 luck

Hi ..i also had the same doubts..but got it cleared on this forum.

For Nonworking movt: the arrow will be slanting
For working movt: the arrow will be straight
For Right: the arrow will be seen moving buccal to the tooth
For Left: the arrow will be seen moving lingual to the tooth(remember L for left and L for lingual)
For protrusive movt, the arrow will be on the tooth pointing straight(that is pretty easy)

Thats all u need to know..and of course u shuld be able to find out the cuspal positions.

Try to use the above methods on some questions and u will get the hang of it..all the best , am sure u'll do well!

thx a lot rtvj

QUOTE=rtvj]i think they will usually ask u on the central fossa cuspal position.
For eg:

1.a pic of mandibular 1st molar with an arrow moving from the central fossa..asking u to identify the maxillary cusp..as u know maxillary 1st molar mesiolingual cusp occludes on central fossa of mand 1st molar.

2.Similarly, a pic of max 1st molar with an arrow moving from the central fossa..asking u to identify the mandibular cusp..as u know the mandibular 1st molar distobuccal cusp occludes on the central fossa of max 1st molar.

First, identify the tooth and then study the morphology of the tooth(fossa, cusps and grooves)
then remember the rules of occlusion(kaplan is very good).
and u will be able to make out which cuspal position they r talking abt.
Remember that the point from which the arrow starts is the position where the cusp occludes.

hope this helps.

good luck!
