The thing is that I really really want to become a dentist and do my BDS degree but the only thing is that I don't have the appropriate grades for the course. I have reasons for why I didnt get the appropraite grades and the most obvious reason is that my dad is a diplomat and I have changed schools 11 times by going to different countries. That has certainly affected my grades. I didn?t even get to complete the whole 9th grade because I moved to Switzerland in jan and went to a French school from Jan ? July. The whole curriculum was in French and I never studied French before in my whole life. Then I went to an international school to do my IGCSEs.
I did my IGCSEs from Switzerland and got 1 A, 3 B's and 2 C's and i know that is minimal nuimber of IGCSEs but thats the norm abraod. This i think would in turn not favour me because you guys would favour people with more GCSEs and A's.
I got my AS results last week and i got 1 A and 3 C's and I have biology and chemistry and will carry on with them. Now the thing that everyone is telling me is that I cant get in dental school and it would be very hard for me even to get an interview. I said that I can write a good and appealing personal statement and be very chjarming at the interview but they said told me NO. I will hopefully get ABB as prediced grades in A level.
Now my question is that do you think will I still be accepted in Dental School to do a BDS degree or no? My situation is very weird and not many people have this kind of situation. I dont know how to go about all this because its very confusing. As far as I know I can get ABB or even AAB ! As far as i know, I can get 320 UCAS points but i dont know if the points matter more or ABB?
At the moment I am carrying on with Biology, Chemistry and Psychology at A level.
I also have an A in English lang in my IGCSE.
Do you thin kI have any chance in the uni-s im applying too like Caridff, Newcastle, Glasgow and leeds ??
Eagerly waiting for your reply
Thanx

Huh? 😕

I think you should ask that question in the international dental forum. Us american pre-dents have different grading systems and admission programs so we are not going to be as much help.

I am moving this to the International Dental forum because the user deserves a solid response and the international folks are much better versed in this information...
