soooo...we havent had one of these in a while 😛 and silly me, i thought that maybe i would be able to choose on my own but its turning out to be a much more difficult choice than i thought! ok here goes my dilemma..
NSU
Pros: awesome facilities, good support (staff and profs), good board rates (95% i was told in my interview), and good rotations, good matches in fl (and some n.east coast), i'm also in fl so it would be easy for me to move down there and i could take all of my furniture/stuff
Cons: must stay in FL 3rd year on lottery (so i could potentially end up in okahumpka, po-dunk fl..), weather (HOT&humid all year round+hurricanes), and i really dislike s.fl....ive been living in fl for the past 4 years and whenever i go to s.fl i just feel like im entering rich-miami hummer, bmw-ville...i dont know people seem very superficial..and lastly, close enough to my future mother-in-law to drive me crazy
oh, and i dont really care about the dress code/attendance policy...im ok with it
COMP
Pros: awesome rotations in cali, kids seem awesome (laid back&friendly, i must say i was very impressed), can leave 3rd year if you want (can even do rotations overseas for credit), good matches in w.coast, and fiance would 😍 to move out here because hes in art biz...
Cons: (from what ive heard!) staff is not very supportive esp. during 1st year, board rates are avg. (some have said as low as 70%?), facilities are ok
So basically...i would love to live in california and get out of fl but i just feel like overall NSU has more resources, money to spend on their kids, and has more opportunities to offer. but i loved the atmosphere at comp, the students there were super nice and the school was small, which i liked. i just have still heard that the admin at comp is not as helpful with both keeping their students happy and with rotations....
help SDNers!!!! 🙂
