My science GPA isn't all that great so I decided to take some classes at ucla extension. My question is.... should i retake some of the pre-requisites i did poorly on such as o-chem and genetics or should i take some easier science classes to boost my gpa or a mixture of both?

IMO you should retake any pre-req sience that you have less than B in and mix it with a few upper div. Biology courses (easy or hard does not matter, upper div. biology level does not translate to a difficult cource anyway)

I agree. Retake the chem prereqs that are less than a B since they are tested on the DAT. You can probably get away with not retaking genetics if you got a C or higher.

I think it is important to have strong grades in the pre-reqs and it will definitely help study for the DAT.😎

Counterpoint - retaking the pre-reqs and getting As will only improve your GPA half as much as taking new science classes and getting As - due to how AADSAS calculates your GPA.🙁

Thats true, but they like to see that you try and convert the C in pre-req to an A. It would not change your GPA much, but pre-reqs are important, they like to see improvement. IMO you should not have less than B in General Bio/Chem and Orgo and if you are retaking do not go for less than A.
