Help please... MCAT

I finished my MCAT content review and taken 3 practice AAMC tests. My scores were

AAMC 3- 8ps-7vr-8bs
AAMC 4- 9ps-7vr-9bs
AAMC 5- 9ps-7vr-10bs

my test date is april 27th. I realize I have a problem in verbal, but can my score improve by test date.

Honestly, that will not be very competitive to get you into a MD program but perhaps a DO program (maybe). I would take some more time and extend your date and study more. Push it to perhaps to June so you can get 2 more months under your belt.

Its probably not what you want to hear but I agree with goodman, you should push it back to june. My friends taking it this year did that to give them more time to prepare. It's better to give it your 100% capability instead of anything less.

Generally speaking, it's difficult to peak on the actual test, meaning what you score on practice exams is probably higher than what you will score in real life.
I agree that more time should be taken to hone your skills before taking the MCAT. Good luck

We need to know more about your verbal abilities. What is your English background? How do you approach the passages? Why are you getting questions right? Why are you getting them wrong? Are you pressed for time, too much time? Are you not understanding the passages?

It's difficult to improve your verbal abilities within a short time but the best way I could think of is to practice taking a hundred verbal passages all in sequential like a train. Maybe 7 or 8 in a row.

Write the main idea for each passage after you correct your answers. But don't burn out just days before the exam. Take a day break of doing mcat just before you take your exam. Don't do any MCAT and relax your brain.

I am kind of in the same boat, except my verbal scores are just a tad better. Sometimes my verbal reaches that score, but that's just because I had a passage or two that I just could not comprehend (heavy politics or heavy philosophy). What is the consensus on taking the MCAT on time, then taking the test again a month or two later, if the score is low?

I'm thinking of taking my test on time (5/11) so that I can submit my application early. Thoughts? Oh, I'm applying in Texas only, so no top tier schools for me.

I agree that you should push it back. However, it is important to realize that the verbal score is very difficult to improve. At some point you will hit your verbal score plateau (if you haven't done so already), and then accept that that will be your verbal score and you will have to do other things in your application to overcome it, including applying broadly.
