Okay guys, before I start please save the negative comments. I know I’m a screw up. But I’ll be graduating undergrad as a URM with a 2.7 gpa and extremely low MCAT (don’t bother to ask the score). I played two sports in college and had a lot happen during college. It’s no excuse but nothing was a walk in the park. I’m going over my options for how to fix this and I need some help.
I don’t really know of any post baccalaureate programs that are looking at taking people with a sub 3.0 gpa. If you know of any please comment below. Or I could do a diy post baccalaureate at the local state school.
What do you guys think I can do to dig myself out of this hell hole?

DIY-Postbacc at local state university. You need to raise your undergrad GPA, the only way to do that is to take undergrad classes. Take 2 years of upper division undergrad classes, study very hard for the MCAT and apply MD/DO. Remember, subpar performance isn't an option in your postbacc. You need atleast a 3.7+ GPA in your postbacc, much easier said than done. You need to sit down and honestly review your study habits/techniques.

what was your major? how many prereqs did you complete in college? that'll help you decide which coursework you need to pursue for gpa enhancement. i agree, DIY ug is smart since you'll not only save money, but also really target the proper metrics. Depending on other factors, you may decide to try for a program with a linkage agreement or strong, consistent, and demonstrable results (eg., drexel, drew, medprep, UMB has a funded pb) Be honest with yourself about what kind of environment will really allow you to thrive as a student; you've demonstrated that you can survive. Don't be lured in by the pseudo-prestige and make an expensive mistake. If all else fails, consider a related field or international options according to your priorities. Bon courage camarade!

My major was biology. I took so many classes which were required. I took classes like biochem, immunology, embryology, endocrinology, microbiology to name a few. But some of them I received c’s and I retook a few. I went to the local state school and we found a total of 31 credits I need to retake which were C’s. All science courses. Like O.Chem, stuff like that. I was going to apply to some masters programs and post baccalaureates but they are just so expensive. Like on the lower end some are $18k versus my state school where I can retake these courses for $4K... but I’m interested in the linkage so that’s the only reason why I’m even considering those programs. It’s hard showing people you’re a good student you just had a hard time..

First, you need to retake the MCAT. No doubt about that. I'm not sure how low that is, but if it's lower than 25th percentile, you won't get anywhere - medical school or SMP (worth its weight, anyway.) I'd take time from school to focus on it if you can. If you need to work, I have a post on the 509+ study habits sticky on how to tackle the MCAT while working FT. Or you can PM me if you wanna ask any more questions. I'm all about helping people out. Take the MCAT first and get the best possible score (aim for at least >90th percentile.)

If you're serious about getting into medical school (MD or DO,) I'd go to an SMP. There's no sense in retaking C's other than to bump up your GPA to at least a 3.0. But it sounds like you're trying to save as much money as possible. I'd go to a DO SMP with a linkage and kill it.
