Hello guys, I've got probably the weirdest question. My situation is quite uncommon. I'm currently 6weeks away from graduating with a Master's in psychology...with a solid GPA. I had my BSc in biology with the intentions of going to medschool...but, my GPA was horrible. I deserve all the blame for being stupid at that time. But now, I'm older and wiser and still want to give medschool a shot.I'm more financially stable and able to focus on my studies now. I'm thinking of going to get another bachelor's maybe in chemistry, maths, or physics and also taking the prereqs required for medschool. Does anyone think it's possible for medschools to consider me as a worthwhile candidate if I do well in my second bachelor's ????

- Undergraduate cumulative GPA?
- Undergraduate science GPA?
- Graduate GPA?
- extra-curriculars?

Some people choose to pursue another bachelor's degree in order to repair their GPA.

Grad GP 3.7
Undergrad 2.7
Strong extracurricular activities

Well it certainly couldn't hurt to take a few more undergraduate courses (to pull your GPA up above a 3.0). If you are not opposed to pursuing the DO route you could retake some classes that you earned less than a 3.0 in order to make use of their grade replacement policy (recovers GPA much faster).

Thx....u truly are sagacious

Something I forgot to mention...

There are programs in place (called 'formal post-baccalaureate programs') for individuals in a similar situation. For the most part they offer exclusively upper-level science classes, and claim to help you find EC opportunities.

You might want to check out the sub-forum:

(look for DrMidlife, Robflanker, and Catalystik they are much more knowledgeable than me)
