Hey guys I lurk a lot here but now I need some advice. Just took NBME 13 and got 183 on it. My Step1 date is next week. What should I do? I want my score to be around average.

I did Kaplan(I thought it took up too much time), went thru UWorld at 60% right :/. Got my first aid with all my notes in there after uworld. I feel like whatever I learn last week just goes out the window and I'm just forgetting stuff.

If you already did UW then you need to use something like Rx and maybe do UW again. I think something like a combo of DIT and Rx will help you get a stronger base. I think you need to push the test back at least a month. And take more NBMEs once you are done building a better base. I liked DIT for getting my the basics of FA.

You're burned out.

I think at this point you really should push it back. Failing an NBME means you're not ready to take the exam, especially not one that's a week away. If you can afford pushing it back a month, do so. Once you've secured the new test date, take 1-2 days completely off and recharge. Maybe take 1 full day off, nothing Step/school related, then spend the next day creating your plan of attack.

Adding Pathoma and going over your UWorld incorrects (and even your corrects, if time allows) would also help!

NBME's can be 10-15 points off on either side but if you got a 183 there is no way you would score any better than passing and there is a good chance you would fail. 60% on uworld if done on random is worth a 220 so may know your stuff and just bombed for some reason....If thats a legit 60% then take another NBME or UWSA and see if you are near your goal, if not then you should come up with a new study plan. Good luck.

Alright so I have talked to the Dean and he was ok with me to reschedule. The problem right now is finding any dates from like 4 weeks from now. There are zero spots which got me a little stress. I hate playing the waiting game and trying to find a seat for the exam.

Look around in cities that are close.......several in my class had to take it about 100 miles away in a larger city that had more spots.

I don't think getting a date is going to the major problem BUT climbing from 183 to 228 in 4 weeks will.
You need to post your various % ages in order for us to help you out in planning the best course of action.
