I have been delaying my decision now for at least a month on my eventual choice to Medical School. I have been accepted to several schools, but based on the comfort level i felt at both schools and their proximity to home, I have narrowed the choices to Temple and UMNDJ-SOM.
I have been leaning toward osteopathic for several years because of their theory in medicine and my belief that it is the future of medicine. However, I plan to do work abroad in the future. In one of my interview i expressed this. A faculty member of the school (he was a DO) told me that maybe i should look into MD schools more because DO's are not as accepted abroad as MD's. Pretty much the same problem in the US, but to the point that they might not be able to practice. Is this true, are other countries, especially 3rd world countries unwilling to allow a DO to practice? If so, it may have a huge impact on my decision. Thanks for your help in advance.
