hi guys, I plan on sending out my primary application as soon as aacomas will let me, which is late may or june. My question is how long does it usually take for the school to send me a secondary, assuming i get some, because I plan on traveling out of the country for a month or so to volunteer somewhere. also, what is considered early for sending in a secondary?
thank you all!!!

It really depends on the school, some you will recieve in a matter of days, others may take as long as a month or more. And you will definitely get some secondaries, some schools send them to every applicant--a nice way to stiff you for another $50 -$100. If you're going to fill out the secondary, I would suggest filling it out and sending it back asap, the earlier it is in, the early your app will be complete and considered. Early gets the worm and all that. They are all going to have atleast one essay, some have several. Save each essay..........trust me. Think about the financials as well, if you apply to 15 schools and get secondaries from all of them, thats close to $1000 in fees or more, not to mention interview cost where you get them. The bill can start to get up there pretty quick. Its definitely an investment. I applied to several places, both MD and DO, but I wanted to make sure I gave myself the best chance. Hope that helps, PM me if you have any questions.
