Help! Training permit

Hi! I will be starting my residency in July.
I would like to know if anyone has started filling out their state licensing forms for their training permit.
Must I have the permit ready before the first day of residency?
I am afraid my permit may not be ready in time because the state licensing board has to send a verification request to my medical school, and my medical school isn't the most efficient one.
Can anyone with experience please let me know?

Try and get it all done before July first. I stressed out about it too, but my residency program kept telling me I had plenty of time, needless to say they were right for me, but there was one other intern who spent the first 2 weeks of his residency in an observership, nonpaying role because his special licence did not get done in time.
