HELP: tuition variation throughout 4 years

Hello there,

I have a question concerning tuition throughout the four years of study. Is the tuition for years 2, 3, and 4 the same as that reported for year 1? I am confused because everyone says tuition increases every year by 5%. Is this increase in tuition for only those starting the program that year or does it apply to also dental students in 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year?

Sometimes true, but if tuition goes up every year (ie. a 5% bump across the board), it might not be the case.

My first year is projected to be the most expensive. However, with the tuition increases that are so common, I'm expecting (and hoping) that all four years will essentially cost the same as my first year.

I would somewhat roughly estimate that the total cost would be, using the numbers that are available when you are starting dental school:
[Tuition Yr1]+([Tuition Yr2]*1.05)+([Tuition Yr3]*1.05^2)+([Tuition Yr4]*1.05^3)

the math is so simple!!

for those that have not taken differential equations and group theory, you can probably expect tuition to increase as much as 5% per year. things like equipment fees and other administrative fees seem to stay flat or change throughout school. the adea guide can give you a rough idea of how things change depending on how the schools report fees...even better, the financial aid briefing for any particular school on interview day.

Every financial aid office will list tuition for each class. While tuition is the same, added costs include clinic fees, test prep fees (want to pass the boards?), and other equipment or instrument fees.
